Laboratory Manager
Eco Scientific Services has recently established a new laboratory for the testing of and research into the environmental impacts of biodegradable materials and other products. We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Manager to run the laboratory and assist us in providing high quality scientific services to industry and government. The position will be based in the inner west of Melbourne with office space provided in our North Melbourne headquarters.
The position requires a person who is comfortable tackling technically challenging issues and has the ability to develop practical solutions. The position also requires a person who can work independently and is able to draw on their initiative.
The position will be responsible for ensuring that the laboratory runs smoothly and testing processes meet our high standards of scientific integrity. Specific areas of responsibility include:
- Development and refinement of testing methodologies
- Ensuring established standards are met
- Setting up and monitoring research projects
- Works required for laboratory accreditation
Position Requirements:
- Degree, Diploma or trade qualifications in a relevant discipline.
- Experience in managing laboratory based testing processes
- Experience in research projects
- Considerable experience with solving practical problems
- Demonstrated knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software
- Demonstrated ability for methodical project monitoring/data collection and an eye for detail
- Drivers licence
- Strong interpersonal, communication, writing and analytical skills.
A salary between $50 000 - $65 000 will be offered dependant on experience.
